Kim and Jo work compassionately with individuals experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties.

We have extensive experience supporting those who have experienced abuse and trauma, and we understand how these experiences can shape emotional wellbeing, relationships and sense of identity.

We are committed to developing understanding and self-compassion as foundations for growth and change. Therapy with Northlight offers space to explore challenges safely, reduce shame and build towards a more balanced, fulfilling and meaningful life.

Who We Support

Many of the people we work with feel distressed, overwhelmed or concerned about their thoughts, feelings or behaviours. Some may worry about harming themselves or others, or feel anxious about their potential to do so. We provide a safe and respectful environment where these concerns can be explored openly and without judgement.

We specialise in working with difficulties relating to trauma, abuse, emotional regulation, mental health, relationships, addiction, sexual identity and sexual difficulties, personality-related challenges and identity concerns. These areas are often accompanied by shame or fear, and we approach them with sensitivity, professionalism and care.

Our Therapeutic Approaches

Our work is integrative and tailored to the individual. We draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic models to ensure therapy is responsive to your needs and goals.

These approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Focussed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Functional Analytic Psychotherapy. Each model offers different tools for understanding patterns, processing trauma, managing emotions and creating meaningful change.

Practical Information
